Description

A watching brief carried out during cabling works has revealed sandstone rubble from the Roman quarry in Edgar's Field spilling over the ancient river bank as well as a dump of leather off cuts that probably represent shoe-making waste dating to the late eighteenth to nineteenth centuries (1).
