Description

Excavations in a cellar to the rear of the property revealed the north wall of the colannaded building beneath St Michael's Row. A trial hole dug in the Grosvenor Motor Co. Garage revealed a hypocaust system of two periods implying that the bath suite accompanying this building may have occupied most of the space between it and the southern defences (1). The north wall of the basilica was recorded (2).
