Description

Electrical resistance and magnetometer surveys were carried out on the interior of Eddisbury Hillfort as part of the Cheshire Habitats and Hillforts Project. Objective was to define and characterise any detectable archaeological features. Little indication was found of surviving archaeological features, suggesting that agricultural activity has probably denuded what may have existed, particularly in the eastern field. The features of potential archaeological interest identified included a cluster of possible pits, ditches and possible rectangular features.
