Description

Geophysical Survey carried out in June 2010 within the outer bailey of Beeston Castle, Cheshire. It was located to the southwest of the gateway and adjacent to the curtain wall . A range of both magnetic and resistance anomalies have been identified within the survey area. While some can be related to the modern use of the site, including footpaths, other anomalies appear to be archaeological in origin. These anomalies suggest that both prehistoric and later archaeological features may be within the study area (1).
