Description
Desk based assessment (drawing heavily on the one perviously prepared by Wessex Archaeology (R3052)) of land on the northern outskirts of Crewe where residential development is proposed. The report also incorporates a geophysical survey designed to identify areas of potential requiring further archaeological mitigation. In the event, no areas of interest were identified by the geophysical survey, although a structure appearing on the eastern limits of the site on 19th-century mapping, appears to be an example of moss-edge settlement. This will be recoreded as a condition of development should planning permission be granted.
