Description

This event was a structural assessment, investigating the feasibility of refurbishing the Chester Old Port Wall including the removal of the accumulated debris, foliage and accumulated silt in front of the wall. It was concluded that the northern part of the wall would need to be strengthened to enable dredging to take place, while the southern portion of the wall would need to be rebuilt to allow this. Six boreholes were created, as the trial excavations first proposed were considered unsafe.
