Description

Evaluation undertaken as a result of proposed development plans for the area in 2002. Archaeological assessment required to assess the potential impact of works on the archaeologically sensitive areas of the Roman fortress and medieval town. Fieldwork consisted of nine small test pits. The results indicated a good survival of medieval and post medieval features overlying and possibly preserving earlier Roman deposits.
