Description
Survey of a 19th century Grade II listed building in advance of minor development work on the site. Some parts of the site including the upper floor of the building and the stable range were not accessible at the time of the survey. Roof was inaccessible.
The building is largely a 19th century brick built structure with some false timber framing added to the upper floor street frontages. The second floor projects very slightly beyond the lower street frontages creating a slight jettying.
The interior has been subject to significant alteration with limited survival of the original layout.
Building also contains a brick line beer cellar, although the barrel ramp survives, the remainder of the fixtures and fittings are late 20th century.
Additional buildings surveyed include the North or Scullery Range and the South or WC Range as well as the former Stables building.
Recommendations of the report was that a low level photographic record would be sufficient given the limited nature of the alterations proposed.
