Description

Observation of excavated foundation trenches for rear extension weere examined. These had been cut downto natural sand across the southern part of the footprint which lay at a depth of c 0.8m below modern ground level. Within the eastern part of the footprint an existing concrete slab was being re-used. The material above the sand consisted of disturbed topsoil and there was no trace of roman activity or artefacts.
