Description
An archaeological watching brief was maintained during groundworks associated with the construction of a new dwelling on land immediately adjacent to the site of the Methodist church, during whose construction in the 19th century Roman remains were found. No evidence of roman activity was found, although it was shown that deep deposits of topsoil had been imported onto the site in the recent past which may have obscured any remains in that portion of the site adjacent to the chapel.
