Description

The removal of a coal chute and other modifications to the cellar at 98 Watergate St. provided the opportunity to examine an area in the vicinity of a known Roman bath house. Investigations encountered a significant amount of Roman material and artefacts, including building debris, but in this area the material appeared to be redeposited and their deposition was, perhaps, associated with the construction of the present structures in the late eighteenth century.
