Description
An evaluation was carried out on the east side of Tilston Road, malpas to check for evidence of the Roman road, which is thought to follow the approximate line of the modern road. No evidence of the road was found in the three evaluation trenches. A subsequent watching brief during the reduction of the bank alongside the modern road revealed a shallow feature which may have represented a roadside ditch but this was not dated.
