Description

An archaeological watching brief undertaken on the site of the Electricity Buildings in February 2001 provided no evidence for significant or undisturbed archaeology. The only deposits seen were 1 to 1.5m deep deposits of brick, ash and coal dust among modern debris. Badly disturbed nineteenth and early twentieth century cellars were seen along the southern edge of the development and were also present in the central area of the site.
