Description

Evaluation trenching in the area to the north of the parish church in advance of a planned extension to the graveyard area did not reveal any archaeologcal featues despite the proximity to the core of the historic settlement. A small assemblage of medieval and post-medieval pottery was recovered from the topsoil as was a Roman brooch. The brooch is of fantail types and is of 1st or 2nd-century date
