Date

Description
Evaluation carried out at land off Parkgate road on the site of the proposed student village. This consisted of the machine excavation of fifteen trenches, spread roughly evenly across the area affected, and revealed one large post-medieval pit (in Trench 7), possibly related to the levelling of the site close to Finchett's Gutter. Also revealed was a sequence of alluvial deposits associated with historical flooding of the area.
