Description
An Archaeological Desk Based Assessment of Kinderton Hall Farm, Middlewich
Associated with proposed development. Summarises the known archaeology of Middlewich and that of work undertaken by Gifford and Partners and Earthworks Archaeological Services between 1996 and 2001. Includes detail relating to the medieval moated hall and of the fact that the remains of this building are known to survive below modern ground surface. The present Farmhouse was built in 1750 and is a grade II listed building. There is a tentative suggestion that the cemetery associated with Roman Middlewich could have been situated within the study area. There is also evidence for a Roman road that ran across part of the golf course.
