Description
Lingley Mere Business Park Development Company submitted a planning proposal for the development of land at Lingley Mere, (SJ 5580 8994). OA undertook a desk-based assessment (2004) which identified a number of sites of archaeological potential within and around the development site including a post-medieval farm, two cropmarks likely to be ponds and a wood, possibly of medieval origin. A post-medieval mill, and a kiln lay close to , although just south of the development area. Accordingly CCCHES requested that an archaeological watching brief be carried out. No archaeological deposits or features were recorded. The work was undertaken in two phases in 2006 and 2007.
