Description

Report of the excavation of an historic aircraft crash site carried out under licence from the Ministry of Defence, Service Personnel and Veterans Agency under the protection of Military Remains Act 1986. The site investigation and excavation was carried out, primarily, by members of the Peak District Air Accident research with the assistance of members from the Lancashire Aircraft Investigation team on entirely voluntary basis. It was conducted following the guidelines of the British Aviation Archaeolgical Council. Excavation of aircraft remains using a mechanical digger and some hand excavation from a crater NE of Broughs Place Farm. Plane crashed 1st May 1954.
