Description
Rear and Side Extension
CCH2500
A dark, charcoal flecked silty soil was present in the foundation cut. In the west and the north ends of the cut the dark soil extended the full depth of the cut but on the corner under 20cm approx of the dark layer was a layer of burnt clay, in turn overlying a pebble layer. There was no obvious cut and the impression - limited by the confines of the trench - was that this was the high part of a layer rather than the fill of a cut.
