Description
Watching brief undertaken in 2005 during groundworks at Park House. The current alterations for the re-use of the cellar appear to be designed to have minimum impact on the existing sandstone fabric of the cellars, which appears to have survived from the mid-eighteenth century house. Within the limitations of the watching brief, no evidence of an earlier house on site has been located. The present building appears to have been constructed entirely on sand.
