Description
Visit to inspect foundations for new extension in vicinity of Roman Fort.
Foundations for new extension to no. 10 lie in an area to the north of the fort where Roman finds have been found during building work on other houses. Foundations dug to 0.9metre with topsoil (c.0.3m) overlying a more mixed deposit, which in turn overlay natural sand at 0.9m. No evidence of Archaeological features or residual roman pottery in topsoil
