Site Event/Activity record ECH4123 - No. 7a Brooks Lane, Middlewich

Visit to observe foundations for new garage/ extension attached to bungalow. The Site was inspected after excavation of foundation trenches. A very thin topsoil overlay clean natural sand. Some evidence of very late pits in section but absolutely no evidence of Roman features/ residual pottery. No trace of Kinderton Old Hall. Builder reports uncovering trances of halls chimney during work on a building to the south east. The main interest of this work is that the area is not truncated, as previously thought, by industrial use. Good potential.
