Description
A County Council Watching Brief was carried out to the rear of 62 Hospital Street on 21 July 2004. Partial excavation of foundation trenches had been completed, revealing made-up ground comprising a dark-grey brown clay mixed with reddish sand with brik fragments and charcoal inclusions. It was dug to a max depth of 2m, and the same material throughout the profile. Half way down the section a small fragment of 20th century pottery was recovered.
