Site Event/Activity record ECH3994 - Archaeological Evaluation Report of Land at Church Walk, Knutsford, Cheshire

An archaeological desk-based assessment, also an evaluation, was undertaken for land at Church Walk, Knutsford, in advance of redevelopment. The map regression exercise suggests that the site lies within the back lane that would formerly have enclosed the burgage plots fronting onto King Street. The following evaluation revealed a build-up of waterborne alluvial deposits that are possibly related to a mere occupying the area to the west of the site in the prehistoric period. Environmental samples were recovered. (1)
