Description
An archaeological desktop assessment of a 7.8ha site in central Warrington. The site incorporated the Golden Square Shopping Centre, which is to be refurbished, together with Golborne Street, a multi-storey car park to the west, and (at the time of the assessment) undeveloped land to the north. The archaeological impact of the proposed redevelopment was assessed by comparing the probable position of new groundworks with the distribution of areas of surviving archaeological potential.
