Description
An archaeological evaluation of land at St Chad's Church, Farndon. Within trench 1 no features of archaeological significance were discovered in the first metre of ground deposits although disarticulated human remains will be encountered throughout. The deposit at the base of the trench included Romano-British ceramic vessel sherds and industrial waste fragments. Trench 2 the remains of a former boiler house or outhouse of mid nineteenth century date. Below, at a depth of 1.2 metres, two inhumations were identified and subsequently left in situ.
