Description

An archaeological desk-based assessment was produced in 1998 in relation to the proposed Transco Mawdesley to Warrington gas pipeline, in Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire. The 39km pipeline connects Mawdesley (SD 5046 1395), south-west of Chorley, and Warrington Compressor Station (SJ 6812 9024). The southern end of the route passes through an area of low-lying mossland. The assessment comprises two volumes, the first the report and archaeological constraint maps, the second the gazeteer.
