Site Event/Activity record ECH3782 - Winnington CHP Project (Winnington to Lostock Steam Interconnector), Nortwich, Cheshire: An Archaeological Watching Brief

Following the production of a desk-based assessment, which identified a number of sites falling within the area of the proposed pipeline corridor for the steam interconnector between Winnington an Lostock, an archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction phase of the pipeline. However, no archaeological deposits or features were encountered partly because of the method of pipeline construction which, in places, was constructed above ground, supported on large concrete pads located at 15m intervals, resulting in minimal ground disturbance.
