Description

Archaeological desk-based assessment undertaken in 1998 for land at Ince Marshes, Ellesmere Port. The area includes the site of Grinsome Farm, occupied in the post medieval and potentially earlier periods. The vicinity of the farm has been dry land since the mesolithic period and would have been an attractive location for settlement being elevated and well-drained. The remainder of the site was marxh throughout history until it was reclaimed in the 18th century.
