Description

An archaeological desk based assessment of Oulton Mill. The assessment indicated that the site has been continuously used as a water powered mill complex since 1287 and that archaeologically significant features consisting of at least three earlier mill buildings, an iron furnace, associated watercourses and subsidiary buildings are likely to survive.
