Site Event/Activity record ECH3690 - Report on an Archaeological Watching Brief at Gadbrook Park, Northwich, Cheshire

Archaeological watching brief undertaken in 1997 during ground disturbance works in relation to the construction of an industrial park and improvements to the A530 at Gadbrook Park II, Northwich. The watching brief followed on from a desk-based assessment and a sample excavation which determined that the current A530 is situated on the presumed line of a Roman road; an undated roadside ditch was recorded, parallel to, and to the west of, the current road. However, the watching brief did not identify any significant archaeological deposits. (1)
