Description

Archaeological desk-based assessment and walkover field survey undertaken in April 1996 for a proposed extension to Mere Farm Quarry, Chelford. Subsequently, in July 1996, a further 9 hectares of land was included in the assessment (see ECH 3614, SCH4094, R2117B). Several post medieval gravel and other pits were recorded along with a ditch marking the township and later parish boundary between Chelford and Nether Alderley. (1)
