Description

An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in June 1993 of a site to the rear of the Nine Houses, High Street, Tattenhall. Two trial trenches were excavated each approximately 1.2m wide by 10m long. It was shown that the area has been used as gardens since c.1800 and there was no evidence for earlier activity on site. A desk-based study of the village suggests a Roman origin. (1)
