Description
Site visited 30.8.00, where c. 30m length of E. bank of river Dane-In-Shaw being cut back to stabilise. Machine used to cut back steep, sloping riverbank to bedrock (gritstone) and replace with rock-filled wire boxes. Bank consists of loose, unconsolidated earth with much loose debris and modern rubbish. Contact number left with foreman in case of discoveries.
