Description
Site lies c. 60m east of presumed line of Roman road running south from Warrington and at southern limits of area mapped by Cheshire Historic Towns Survey as within possible Roman settlement area. Much of the site badly disturbed by previous use as a garage (inspection pits, petrol tanks etc.). Footings observed at N.W. corner of site, however, where thin residual topsoil overlay clean yellow sand no evidence of archaeological activity observed.
