Description
Evaluation and Excavation carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology for Babtie on behalf of Mowlem. Along with minor features, four possible brick kilns were identified on the site located northeast of the Village of Shavington adjacent to the Crewe Road, surveyed in September 2001. There is a possibility that they are ‘Clamp-kilns’ but the quantities of brick fragments and charcoal found on the site during later excavations do not confirm this. CCC Report: R2412.
