Description
Disarticulated human bones were discovered, on 24th May 1982, at a depth of 50-100 cms, during pipe-laying work in Churchyardside. When found, they were already in a disturbed condition as a result of pipe and cable laying operations over past years. No traces of coffins were observed. Communication with several local people revealed that bones are often brought to light in this area. One person remembered oak coffins being found in an open area "next to the Conservative Club" (i.e. at, or about, map reference SJ 65205236).
