Description
Excavation of a trench for a new gas main from Bridge St. into Feathers Lane revealed a short stretch of sandstone rubble foundation about 0.5m below the modern street level (1). The foundation's alignment appears to be similar to that of Bridge St. itself and its eastern edge 1.5m from the pavement kerb, about 2.5m from the projected line of the west wall of the legionary baths building complex (1).
