Description

The excavations by the Corporation highways Department of a square outside the Barclays Bank for the planting of a tree revealed a sandstone wall roughly 0.6m wide, aligned east-west. The wall could not be dated, but was reported to have resembled Roman structures seen elsewhere in the city (1).
