Description
Grosvenor Museum, 1933: In 1933, during groundworks associated with the laying of a water main near the Grosvenor Museum on Grosvenor St., Samian ware pottery from late first to late second century was recovered (1).
Parker's Buildings, Forest St., 1933: A sherd of an amphora bearing a stamp of mid-second century was found at Parker's Buildings when digging for a gas main in 1933 (2). The stamp QIAFS appears to be from Astigi, Spain (3).
