Description

Numerous articles have been written on the large quantity of Roman inscribed stones recovered from the North Wall by Mr I M Jones, City Surveyor, in 1887 during essential repairs to a section of the wall that had collapsed (1-6). The repairs to the city wall involved the destruction of roughly half the rampart at this location (11).
