Description

Former Victorian Water Pumping Station LL68 (Previously LL HN/1) Address: Waterworks Lane, Hooton Architect: West Cheshire Waterworks Co. Date: 1890? Description Originally single space pump house with change in level of roof approximate mid point. Later extension to north – an extension of the higher roof portion. Brick construction, church-like windows to sides, round arch door in pitched surround to south gable. Circular window to gable ends at roof level. Cast iron tubular water softener outside of east elevation ingeniously reused as an external fire escape. Now converted into three floors as housing. Condition Good. Current Use In use as 5 dwellings. Updated March 2007
