1-5 School House Cottages (Former C of E School)

Date: 1867
Description
A red brick multi-gabled school building beneath a blue slate roof with iron ridge ventilators. Pointed “gothic” arch windows to each gable with plate tracery glazing.
Date stone (1867) inset into former bell tower to south gable.
Some decorative brick detail, brick cantilever “crockets” supporting the joist ends at eaves level. Flat roofed areas were built as toilet blocks. Distinctive scissor truss to eastern block.
Condition - Good.
Current Use
In use, converted to 2 storey housing.
Parts of ground floor brickwork now rendered.
