Town house. c1780, of one build with No.104 Street (qv). Flemish bond brown brick with grey slate roof. EXTERIOR: semi-basement and 3 full storeys. 6 repaired steps to door, east, of 5 fielded panels, the top panel being horizontal, with a radial-bar fanlight above a 3-pane overlight, in a recessed round-arched porch with a thin pedimented case; modern hopper casements to the basement are in square openings above a painted stone plinth; 2 recessed 12-pane sashes to the first storey, 3 to the second storey and 3 of 6 panes to the third storey, all with painted stone sills and wedge lintels with cambered soffits. The cornice, continuous with No.104, is returned at east end. The rear has a long 3-storey wing with a blank east side, an altered west side with recessed 16-pane sashes and rear gable-end with a recessed round-arched porch and an inserted 6-pane fixed light to the second storey. INTERIOR: the basement beneath the front room, reached by stone steps, has 2 recesses to east, barrel vaulted in brick. The front room of the first storey has a door of 6 fielded panels, a basket-arched broad niche in the rear wall and a modillion plaster cornice. Panelled archways to stair hall and thence to rear lobby; doors of 6 fielded panels to office and to rear dining room, and of 5 panels to lavatory; the good open-string open-well stair to second and third storeys, starting with curtail and 7 winders, has 2 plinthed square balusters per step, a fluted bottom newel, turned newels at quarter turns and a swept handrail; the upper rooms, not inspected, have doors of 6 fielded panels, some replaced by flush doors; a plain lantern to the stairwell. There is a plain rear staircase.
