Town house, now offices. c1780. Flemish bond brown brick; grey slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys plus attic in roof; cellar. Rusticated stone quoins at corner with Watergate Street; plain stone plinth. The face to Stanley Street has 2 replaced steps to replaced double doors with plain overlight in a doorcase with cornice; a replaced 4-pane sash north of door; a stair window of 12 panes to each of first and second half-landings; south of stair windows these are two 4-pane sashes to second storey, two 6-pane sashes to third storey and a blocked Diocletian window formerly of 4;6;4 panes in a broad attic gable with a moulded cornice. A flush rear wing with a 2-storey extension has a 12-pane sash and a dual 4-pane sash to the second storey; the sashes have painted stone sills and rusticated wedge lintels with false keystones; the Diocletian window has painted stone mullion and surround with a keystone. The face to Watergate Street has two 12-pane sashes to first and second storeys, two 6-pane sashes to third storey, a coved cornice returned at both ends and 2 west gable chimneys. The rear of the main block has altered first storey, replaced 4-pane flush sash to the second storey and a replaced flush casement to the third storey. The west face of the rear wing includes a 12-pane flush sash to the second storey and one of 6 panes to the third storey under cambered brick heads; the gable end has a replaced door and, to the loft, a louvred vent. INTERIOR: the cellar has stone steps and a brick barrel-vaulted rear room. The first storey has most features renewed; some plaster cornices. Dogleg stair of 4 flights has open string, shaped brackets, some damaged, stick balusters and a swept rail; the treads and risers are covered. The second storey front room has large horizontal panels below dado, panelled embrasures with shutters and a plaster cornice. The third storey front room has panels beneath windows. Doors of 5 panels, but most are covered.
