Chapel, then public hall, and later motor showroom. Part of shop at time of Listing 1834-5. By William Cole. For the Methodist New Connexion. Stucco with grey-green hipped slate roof. 4 Corinthian columns in antis between projecting wings, each having a round-arched window of 20 panes beneath the transom and a radial-bar fanlight above. Entablature with architrave, frieze and dentil cornice; pediment standing proud of panelled attic; hipped roof with ridge at right-angle to front. INTERIOR: any internal features are covered. HISTORICAL NOTE: in 1836 Joseph Hemingway considered this the most handsome chapel in Chester.
