Description

CHESTER CITY (IM) SJ4066NW KING STREET 595-1/1/207 (South side) 10/01/72 Nos.15 AND 17 GV II 2 small town houses. Mid C18. Brown brick in Flemish bond to front and English garden wall bond to rear; grey slate roof has ridge parallel with street. EXTERIOR: cellars and 3 storeys. Rendered plinth with cellar vents; one stone step to each house: No.15 has 4-panel bolection-moulded replaced door with plain overlight in architrave with small moulded hood; No.17 has door of 6 fielded panels with 3-pane overlight in shouldered doorcase with small moulded hood. Windows are flush sashes with painted stone sills and rusticated wedge lintels with false dropped keystones: the first storey has one replaced horned 4-pane sash to each house, the second storey a central 12-pane sash with a replaced 4-pane sash to each side and the third storey a central 6-pane sash with a replaced horned 2-pane sash to each side; cast lead rainwater head and top run of pipe. Rear: Both houses have a single storey outshut with yards between. A replaced first storey window and a nearly flush 4-pane sash to each upper storey of No.15; a nearly flush 6-pane sash to each storey of No.17; the rear wing of No.19 (qv), overlaps the west end of No.17.
