2 or 3 shops and accommodation, now 2 shops and storage. 1864. By Edward Hodkinson. For the second Marquis of Westminster. Brown brick diapered in blue and stone-dressed; grey slate roof, ridge parallel with street. EXTERIOR: Row storey and 2 upper storeys, 3 bays, symmetrical. The Row front has brick end-piers, cast-iron railing with bottom rail, spirally moulded baluster, top rail and ornate spearheads; 2 cast-iron intermediate columns have patterned plinths and strapwork on shafts; sloped stallboard 1.8m front to back, boarded to Nos 43 & 45, covered to No.47; Row walk boarded to Nos 43 & 45 and concrete flagged to No.47; modern shopfronts; rear passage at south end leads to nos. 45A, 45B and 47A Row (qv); plaster ceiling; plain wood-faced bressumer to Row front. Brick third and fourth storeys have recessed 2-pane sashes with moulded stone sills and segmental blue brick arches; 3 triple sashes to the third storey and 3 dual sashes to the fourth storey. A central gable with a smaller gable to each side, each stone-dressed, with kneelers, rectangular side-projections, coping and stumpy octagonal finial. The rear face looks to be in 2 builds, Nos 43 & 45 under a wide gable, projecting beyond the gable of No.47.
