Shop at street level and a town house at Row level and above, now an office at street level, a shop at Row level and accommodation. Probably 1770s. Flemish bond brown brickwork with slate roof at right angle to street, hipped to front. EXTERIOR: 4 storeys including street and Row levels. Modern office front to street; end piers to Row of painted brick; plain cast-iron stick balusters and rail to Row front; cast-iron Tuscan central column; stallboard 1.87m from front to back and Row walk have surfaces covered; outer face of 6-panel shop door is covered; 20-pane sash with shutters on gudgeon hinges; ceiling to stallboard and Row walk plastered; plain bressumer. 2 flush sashes of 12 panes with painted sills and rusticated lintels with keystone to the third storey and 2 similar sashes of 9 panes to the fourth storey; modillion cornice; brick chimney on north wall. To the rear only the upper storey is visible, with a flush 6-pane sash and, south, a former loading door; coped gable. INTERIOR: the undercroft was lined c1987, with no features of interest visible. The Row storey has an altered door from passage to stair hall, now 3-panel and part glazed; a similar door to the front room which has a cast-iron grate, a built-in dresser with double door to cupboard beneath a range of shaped shelves in a round-arched front; dado panelling; moulded plaster overmantel; festoon frieze at head of north wall; cornice. The stair has panelled dado, door of 6 fielded panels to rear room (not inspected), open-well open-string stair with shaped brackets, curtail step, 3 plinthed and tapered square balusters per step, a few replaced, and a swept rail. The altered third storey has panelled dado, fluted window architraves and a good doorcase with fluted and eared architrave and entablature on consoles with carved frieze and moulded cornice; dentils. The stair to the third storey, of 3 flights, has fretted brackets, square plinthed and fluted newels, 3 plinthed and fluted square balusters per step and swept rail.
