Description

CHESTER CITY (IM) SJ4066NW ABBEY GREEN 595-1/1/2 No.2 10/01/72 GV II Town house, now restaurant. Probably early C19. Flemish bond brown brick with grey slate roof. 3 storeys of 4 windows built in 2 parts with central continuous vertical joint. Painted stone plinth; 2 apron steps of stone to door of 4 glazed panels above 2 flush panels in case with eared architrave and replaced hood; a flush tripartite sash with glazing bars removed, west, and 2 flush sashes with bars removed, east of door. The second storey has a Venetian window with 3 replaced horned sashes; a flush sash above the door and 2 to west; the third storey has a tripartite 2;4;2 pane sash, a small inserted casement and two 4-pane sashes. The windows have painted stone sills and gauged brick heads; the parapet has a plain coping. The back has miscellaneous flush sashes. INTERIOR: not fully inspected. Appears to have most features intact, including Georgian stair, doors, embrasures and cornices.
